Hi Jim, printing-discuss at opensolaris.org is the right alias for this question. SO I have changed the cc list. There is a well documented section on Solaris printing in docs.sun.com specifically you can use http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-0403/6mg741bng?a=view to look at the Solaris Print Manager.
on Neveda 54, you can also launch the Solaris Print Manager using Launch->Preferences->Add/Remove Printer. you need root password for adding printer. Most steps here are straight forwards until you try to locate thePPD for your particular model. Since new model of printer is being released faster than we can update PPD files. You will need to find the file from some places like http://openprinting.org/printer_list.cgi to get http://openprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=HP-PhotoSmart_7400 (Okay, can't find the exact match) Then you have to update the ppd cache manually. Not sure of the steps, it has been described in this alias before, couldn't find it. Because of these, there is a opensolaris project trying to address this from the discussion list. -Ghee Jim Adams wrote: > This is the first time I've tried adding a printer in Solaris.
