Yesterday, a new project page was added to the OpenSolaris project list for
Presto - Automatic Printing Configuration
<http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/presto/>
Presto aims to simplify and automate printing related configuration
management task allowing Solaris to dynamically adapt to changes in it's
environment with as little required user interaction or specialized
knowledge as possible.
The project is still in it's very early stages and all assistance and
input will be gladly accepted.
There is a new discussion group for this project,
presto-discuss at opensolaris.org and a very rudimentary prototype of a
subset of the functionality that can be downloaded and installed. The
initial version of the prototype automates printing configuration
management for USB attached printers.
