If you want all the bits for the "Solaris CUPS Print Suite" from the
Companion CD (CCD) you need to install the package SFWcprnt, and all its
dependencies; this will give you CUPS, esp-gs, foomatics, etc.

The README files for SFWcups and SFWcprnt tells you how to set and start
CUPS (from the CCD) on Solaris, see /opt/sfw/READMEs/README.SFWcups +
README.SFWcprnt. The installation does not set it up to start
automatically at boot time (as CCD packages aren't allowed to to install
stuff in the normal places, it all installs into /opt/sfw).

Note, the "Solaris CUPS Print Suite" package versions on the CCD are all
lagging behind the current official versions from the community as they
haven't been updated for a long long time (over 2 years), for example I
think CUPS on the CCD is at version 1.1.21, whereas the community
version is 1.2.6 (or even higher).

Also note, on the web download site there used to be a tarball bundle
for all the cups printing stuff that made it easier to grab all the
required packages in one go, but I'm not sure if that is still put on
the sdlc web site for the ccd packages.

Hope that helps
Paul

PS. I've CCed this to the printing-discuss alias for their information.
