Solaris currently includes ESPGS 8.15.1 + many drivers including the
opvp driver + plus some additional fixes for font issues, particularly
asian language fonts. A year has passed since ESP GS 8.15.1 went in and
based on the fixes in 8.15.2, it's time to upgrade again. We have put
this off some in the hopes that the ESPGS work would get folded back
into the main GhostScript tree and we could use it. When we upgrade, we
will also look into enabling the GhostScript cups raster driver so that
it can be used to expand the printer support regardless of spooler in
use. There is an RFE filed for this
6437073 GhostScript should include cups raster driver support
If you are interested in working on this, let me know. I would be happy
to work with you to get it in sooner.
