A drone might have saved Kirk
It occurs to me that an inexpensive and effective method to provide
some security against tragedies like the Kirk shooting would be to put
a capable yet relatively inexpensive drone up in the air above such
events to watch for oddities like some guy crawling around on the roof
of nearby buildings. The DJI mini-drones are especially capable of
this and are extremely economical, and would be essentially inaudible
at a reasonable height above such venues.
Such a shame that the federal and some state governments are hell-bent
on keeping the most capable DJI drones out of the hands of U.S. law
enforcement and other public safety organizations, while the rest of
the world benefits from this tech.
