I work for a small county hospital district with limited resources for HIPAA implementation products (gap analysis & risk assessment, P & P templates, etc.) I have looked at the cost of consulting services, software, and "extranets", and to be frank, we can't afford them. What's a small outfit to do?
I get glossy brochures every day for the $395.00 big book to compliance with HIPAA. I know these things are garbage and I want better for my hospital. I am looking for the best bang for the buck - a reasonably priced, quality, reputable tool(s) that is simple to use. I AM NOT looking for responses from vendors! In fact, if I get them, I will not consider what you are selling. I am looking for responses (directly to me and not on the listserv) from you folks out there who are health care providers, who are several steps ahead of us, and are using proven products that I seem to be having a hard time finding. Again, please do not post any suggested products on this listserv! Reply directly to me. Tell me about what you are using and an approximate cost. Thank you in advance.
