Hi, this is my first post to this list.I have installed the pro-audio overlay and I am using layman. Installed are rosegarden, zynaddsubfx, jack/audio/connection-kit (jackdbus), patchage If I start patchage, zynaddsubfx, rosegarden and connect them to each other and to system.playback everything works fine: What is played with rosegarden reaches zynaddsubfx: The bottom sliders of zynaddsubfx are moving. But there is no sound. Using Zynaddsubfx with -A (ignore jack, use alsa) produces sound. So alsa seems to be working fine. Same goes for mplayer when not using -ao jack. May be jack is choosing the wrong audio hardware for the output? But how can I convince it to use the one of my motherboard and not the other ones? The systems /etc/modprobe.d/alsa.conf looks likei: alias /dev/mixer snd-mixer-oss alias /dev/dsp snd-pcm-oss alias /dev/midi snd-seq-oss # Set this to the correct number of cards. # --- BEGIN: Generated by ALSACONF, do not edit. --- # --- ALSACONF version 1.0.24.2 --- alias char-major-116 snd alias char-major-14 soundcore alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel # --- END: Generated by ALSACONF, do not edit. --- The audio devices are ("lspci -"v): 00:14.2 Audio device: Advanced Micro Devices [AMD] nee ATI SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA) (rev 40) Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
