Hey Nolan, Well, count yourself among the many who are anxiously awaiting the day when we can use OS X for pro audio applications. Yes, GarageBand has potential and, with the iControl, there's even more promise but, of course, GarageBand is no Pro Tools. Apple's Logic is definitely on par with PT although we're still waiting for the accessibility to be addressed. I'm confident that it will be, although it's going to be a while. Be patient. Once Apple makes good on accessibility with Logic, stuff will continue to be accessible from there on in. Digidesign is definitely aware of accessibility issues and have indicated that they will address them. Again, it's a matter of time.
For now, OS 9 is the only way to go. I understand that that's not an option for you right now. That said, I think it's going to be a bit of a wait.
