maybe, but OSX does deal with the screen differently, so it's probably best
to make profiles in X when at all poossible. Here there were changes between
the 2, so, to me that bears out the need to make the profiles in X.

loading the LUT at startup became unnecessaary way back, Colorsync has
the ability to load the video LUT when the profile is selected as the
monitor profile [in 9 and X].

in the monitors window is the neares you get in X, since sometime
around 10.2 there is no system profile any longer
