Hello again! Thank you for all your comments regarding my posting about our proposed proofing service; I read through them with great interest and they have brought up some interesting points.
In response to some of your questions, I think I should be more specific as to what we offer
Yes, we do use an ICC colour managed workflow. Our proofs are digital, contract proofs to the Euro Cromalin standard on an Iris.
We use Photoshop for our CMYK separations / RGB conversions at the moment.
We are thinking of offering different sized proofs (A4 & A5 A7) so we can fit more on a page, offer a quicker service and do more proofs. So we could do the 2000 plus images mentioned. What size proofs would photographers normally desire?
Also, how many photographers do their own proofs (with DuPont Cromalin Photographers Proof for example)? Is this just the bigger companies?
And where would you go to presently if you wanted a contract proof? Are there any problems with this, and how long does it take?
Thank you all for your time and effort, and I look forward to your replies.
Best Wishes,
Philip Sheppard
