Does this mean that any printing of an image in Quark or Indesign will need a RIP? Or only if a border is placed round the picture? << Bob, try this - Dupe the large image and resample it to the new percentage size as indicated in Quark/ID/PM etc, give it a bit of USM. Delete and reimport the image at 100% in layout and then print. Compare to the job that had the single image placed twice and scaled in layout. Let the list know what size this was in layout (10% or 50% etc). Just how big a resize were you doing, and does resampling instead of resizing do the trick. We will go over the why/how if things work as I hope.
