I'm sure there is somebody out there who can help:
I dissected a Photoshop action (http://www.digitalsecrets.net/secrets/denoiseISO.html), and there is one layer style adjustment, of which I neither know what it does, nor which control, menue item, ... accomplishes it. In that action, nothing else is done to the layer styles in this command. I only have a German PS, so I add the original action palette text, and my translation, which might not be exactly the same as the Emglish text:

Setzen Ebenenstile von aktueller Ebene
Als: Ebenenstile
Skalieren: 100%

my translation:

set layer styles of current layer
as: layer styles
scale: 100%

Different, strange values can be found for this "Skalieren" entry when I do other layer style changes, like 766.7%, or 5555.6% - I never got 100%. Is that the same as "Layer -> Layer Style -> Scale"? Records differently in an action, however...

If anybody wants an internationalized version of the denoiser (the original version only works with an English PS, because assumptions are made about default names of new layers and new channels, but "Layer 1" is "Ebene 1" in a German PS - you have to use explicit naming, and non-default names, to avoid problems), and without the destructive conversion to Lab (this should be enough modification to avoid copyright problems), I can mail it OL.

All the best
Otto
