Hi all

I'm looking to replace my Mitsibushi monitor - preferably with a 17/20 inch.
I've read some glowing reports on LCDs from Apple and Formac - also laCie
which apparently gives good results. The downside seems to be that you can't
do a hardware calibration on a LCD although the Apple runs a constant
internal adjustment - is this the same

I'm interested in the la Cie 19 inch CRT with a blue eye kit but can't find
any reviews - I know the 22inch has received excellent reviews but think
it's a little large. Also I'm not sure whether I can use the full resolution
on a Mac G4/400 AGP with DVIi and VGA

At a later date It would be good to share the monitor between two Macs (to
save desk space). The 22inch has 2 VGA inputs but the 19 one - Can I buy a
VGA splitter or is a KVM box (www.lindy.com) a better option

Reading articles it seems that CRTs are on the way out but the same articles
suggest for accurate colour you need a CRT!

Do I need to calibrate using hardware to get consistent and satisfactory
results.

By way of background most of my work is weddings and portraits and goes to
Loxley colour as RGB - they have offered use of their Spyder to calibrate
but my view is that purchase of my own kit might be more convenient.

Sorry for all the questions - but thats what's the group is all about isn't
it?
