Get a trestle such as sold by Habitat, Estia! or good hardware store that is about 1" lower than your desk and suspend the G4 using nylon cord and karabiners [ buy from outdoor pursuits store ]. As the computer is slung under the trestle it gives it total solidity although it is easy to move and access as well. Also very easy to surround with something to make it quieter.
