Hi. Its great for the money . Of course it all depends on your final usage.
The main benefit over the 2450 is it's speed increase. I do use it for
medium format with great success scanning in 16bit. Calibration is a must
though. It could still do with a better Dmax of course. The film holders are
much better than the 2450's. I haven't had any Newton rings yet. I use it
with Silverfast 6 so I cannot comment on the Epson drivers. Here in the UK
it comes with Silverfast SE which can be upgraded to include IT8
calibration.
