Both versions are 7.6 Yours is sub-version 2 the newer one is sub-version 15 Does that make it any clearer? The sub-versions (my expression, I don't know what the correct term is) are small modifications to the main version number. For all its greatness, I find that VueScan tends to have far too many of these minor tweaks. If you follow version tracker, there is a new sub version every week it seems, usually just to add more scanners etc. No major mods are done at this level (or at least shouldn't be).
