[PRODIG] Photoshop Problem

I'm sorry about this - I know we've been here before but.....

I recently re-installed Photoshop 7 & then updated it . And now my 
spacebar doesn't bring up the hand tool for moving around the screen.

I can't remember how to fix it - it worked fine before the update.

OSX 10.2.4/Photoshop 7.0.1
