I installed a "No More Carts" CIS (Continuous Ink System)? on my 1290 a few weeks ago
and for the most part I think it is really great. It has saved a lot of the hassles
and problems created by using cartridges.

Good as the system is, the method of rigging the ink tubes is, frankly, rather mickey
mouse. The support arm is attached to the printer case using a Velcro strip. While
this allows adjustment it is not very stable and from time to time (far too often) the
arm sags sufficiently for the ink tubes to foul the print head and jam the printer.
It is then necessary to switch off, clear the print job and re-start. Sometimes even
a re-boot is required.

To fix this problem I am about to get out the electric drill and make a couple of
holes in the Perspex holder and printer cover and anchor the arm down with a couple of
small nuts and bolts.

Before I do, I wondered if any of you bright sparks have thought of a more elegant
solution?
