I have just calibrated my Apple 23" with a new Eye-One Display/Match 2 bundle pack and the display now appears brighter than with the previous canned profile from Apple (the one called "Apple Cinema HD Display" in the monitor control panel).
Colours look the same (the new, calibrated profile may be slightly more towards yellow, but the difference is very, very subtle - colours are very close). But the change in brightness is pronounced, it more or less equals the difference between Mac and Pc gamma. I can still distinguish between all the shades in the monitor test strip in Capture One's monitor prefs, but the shadows are now brighter and easier to distingusih at the expense of the light areas. I am afraid I may be using a profile which is too bright - has anybody got a possible explanation for this? Am I doing something wrong? I thought the "canned" profile from Apple was supposed to be quite good, and didn't expect a big change like this? Advice from some of the colour experts would be very much appreciated! -- Best regards, Morten Brakestad E-mail: morten(at)brakestad.com =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
