I'm a lurker too, the amount of info here is truly staggering and I feel
somewhat inadequate but I do know a little about computers.

I was wondering if there is something wrong with your email
configuration; the POP3 (Post Office Protocol) settings of your computer
maybe the server name or if you have anti virus on your email that could
have messed up your POP3 settings. Another thing, your ISP might have
changed something while you were away? It might explain why you can send
but not receive.

Hi Simon

Are you using OExpress as your mail client?
What happens when you use IExplorer?
