Hi all, Having just joined this group I would like to introduce myself to the other 502 members.
My Name is Karl Edmond I currently work outside the photographic world although have maintained a keen interest in photography since my school days. I hope the fact that I'm not a pro yet doesn't preclude me from this group. To be honest I'm fed up with the corporate life and have a desire to be employed in a career that I actually enjoy. OK I can hear the groans now but I sincerely hope it's more than a pipe dream. So I'm in the very early stages of my reincarnation. The plan is to ease myself into the work steadily over the next year or so whilst maintaining my current job. My primary interest is sports photography and in particular Horse trials, Motorcycle racing, Skiing/Boarding and some other extreme sports. Of course I realise the level of investment associated with the purchase of the equipment required for this sort of work. So I'm selling what little photographic gear I have with the aim of purchasing a D10 and a couple of lenses. Any advice from you guys will be very grateful and if anyone on the list has some equipment for sale I could be interested. I've be undertaking some research over the last couple of weeks but still don't have a clear idea on how best to sell my images or services. Once again any comments, suggestions or advice will be more than welcome. Lastly I realise this is a forum for discussion of digital imagery and the associated technology. I'm sure I'll be seeking much advise in the coming months and look forward to hearing from some of you.
