Ethernet networking software is built in to the Mac OS!
If you are using OS 8 or 9 you need to configure the TCP/IP control panel, and if using OS X then System preferences> Network> Click on Show> Built-in Ethernet and then select the TCP/IP tab. Then carry on from there.

We do have an old powerPC mac but there is no Netgear software for mac on the disk and we cannot find any on the net either. Any ideas?
