Dear all, I have just joined the list and apologies if the topic has been covered recently, but i would appreciate any assistance. I am choosing software to improve (create?) work flow and create an organized database of my scans. Having done some research I have found a few products and I am thinking at this point of using Photomechanic to manage captioning and data entry on images en batch, and Extensis portfolio 6 for archive.
I am just getting into trying to more sensibly manage the scans i have made over a number of years, and create organization as i work to scan and rescan my archive of several thousand images. It is all an incredibly daunting task and any advice or thoughts for tools that will help streamline the process and make management of the images easier will be greatly appreciated. I do not want to have to try and do this twice... I am working with Mac G4 and Nikon LS4000 and LS8000 scanners. Thank you.
