Hi

Rechargeable batteries of most sorts suffer a considerable reduction in
capacity. If you have a more power hungry digital device, then it is not
unknown to use batteries from an inside pocket of your coat via a power

One good point is that sensor noise is very temperature dependant - so you
may get away with using higher iso. I've seen a difference between winter
night shots here in the UK and some I took in southern France in the summer
- quite a bit more noise.

Only problem with cold cameras is dew ... That and your nose on the back of
the camera :-))
