I doubt whether one exposure of the sun will effect the CCD. However I did some timelapse photography in the desert in California a few years ago with a Nikon Coolpix 990n and the sun drew pink lines on the chip. Nikon denied that the sun caused the damage, and very kindly replaced the chips. However the photographic evidence is clear.
