Hi Benjamin
Thanks for that exhaustive report.
This evening I installed Panther first on my TiBook then on my G4. Both went fine. having talked to a friend - who said he'd read that the installer doesn't take kindly to connected Firewire devices, and the pdf on the installer disk which says you should disconnect any third party video cards (I have 2) I disconnected everything except the installed video card, the keyboard and mouse. Whether or not that is important I know not, but my system is now safely installed and working fine.
Haven't explored too much so far but the new finder window is just great
Oh - you mention your beloved Cube. The friend I mentioned just bought one - not because he really needs it - but just because he wants to own a bit of engineering genius :-) :-)

Greetings,
Francis Newman mentioned being interested in seeing comments earlier (I changed the
subject heading) on Panther. My colleague and I have been running tests since Friday - both
at home and the office. Here are my observations so far:
1. It's now running on 7 systems consisting of: 2 G5's; 1 G4 iMac; 2 G4 titanium powerbooks;
1 G4 silver tower (upgraded with a Powerlogix 1.2 Ghz CPU); and my *beloved* G4 Cube
(also running the Powerlogix 1.2 Ghz CPU). So far...all is well.
