i9100 is a very photographic printer, and will make very nice prints, (on other than Canon papers with a profile), but is not archival at all. I have seen some loss of saturation in unprotected prints I under 3 months. I would expect 5-10 years best case for behind uv glass. Rumor is Canon has a archival desktop printer in the works. The new Epson with the Ultrachrome Glossy ink, looks very interesting also. -- Dana Rasmussen Seattle, WA
