I don't have a stopwatch available, all I can say is that CS is unbelievably slow on my machine to the extent that I have reverted to PS7. I am using MS XP Pro on a 1.8 Pentium 4 with 1.5 GB Ram, which although needs updating, should be enough. I have been using Photoshop for a quite a few years and the difference in performance is significant enough for me to see if other people have experienced a similar problem.

In the event of nobody else putting forward a suggestion perhaps this cunning plan will help you provide the sceptics with your timing information.
Go to your control panels or whatever XP calls them and open the clock utility alongside your PS window. When the second pointer comes to a new sector GO! You can count along with the second hand, or if this is difficult just make a bigger file and time that. If the difference really is that significant it should be easy to provide the times.
