If you had just deleted it you could just get it back from the recycle bin.

If you had emptied the recycle bin, unerase should work if the file had not
subsequently been over-written.

If the disk is corrupted, extracting the file may be a specialist job for
someone like Dr. Solomon, and inexpert attempts might do more harm than
good: they can recover data form files with missing or currupted registry
entries an file header info.

Make a copy of the disk, and work on the copy.

I think it is diskcopy that copies the whole disk, not just file by file.
