To my questions: If you send 1000ppi to the printer, doesn't it just resample down to printer resolution anyway? >From the original digital image, what print size print, print type and printer resolution will give the most detail? Is there any higher resolution on the printed page from Pictography, or dye sublimation, or ink jet?
> pictrography prints at max. 400dpi (and this is true pixel to print pixel ratio, unlike ink jets). I think this is the highest resolution available. Lambda and Poli-electronica printers (onto photographic paper) print at about 254dpi, but maybe this is better for re-photographing. (?) Why not just print much larger digitals for him to photograph?
