This model has a serious FTP problem with large files which Netgear cannot resolve. The first file transmits fine but the next one stalls if the previous transmission took longer than 5 minutes. Netgear are being cagey but sort of admit (they refunded the purchase) that it's a hard wired problem with that one particular router (DG814) when used with Macs (at least system 9.2.2 & 10.2.x) & transmitting files that take more than 5 minutes each. Something to do with an IP timeout? Beyond me! Netgear say that they have no plans to fix this as it can't be done with a firmware upgrade. Netgear dealt well with the problem & their other products seem good value.
