I think pretty much if not all G4s came (come?) with a video card with outputs to both ADC (Apple's digital output and DVI (with VGA adaptor) video cards. So you could run a CRT and a (Mac) LCD off the installed card. However if you want to run a 2nd screen of either sort (this including a non digital LCD) I suspect you'll need a second card.
