Dear friend,

I do not know whether what I am about to say answers your question,
but maybe it is one way out of the problem you have. Perhaps I have
misunderstood you.

As an oil painter (as well as a digital snapper and crude image
manipulator), I have constant problems with lighting - especially
during these long British winters.

The best thing I find to work under is the blue "daylight" bulbs
available from art shops. A table lamp with one of these in, on my
computer desk helps give the working area a more natural ambiance. I
also usually supplement this bulb with the whitish light of low
voltage QI type table lamps. (however if you get the base too near to
the monitor it can cause flicker as the transformer interferes with
the monitor tube!)

I hope this contribution is not too amateurish for this group. If
somebody can tell me a better way of getting "daylight" from a lamp,
it could change my life.....
