Hello Prodig Community As required of new subscribers, I'd like to introduce myself formally, before getting involved in the forum.
I'm a photographer of ~30 years experience, some pro, some amateur. I'm based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and currently earn a crust as a 'social' photographer (a term I'm not too fond of, but it's as good as any...not that I'm not sociable!) My specialisation is black and white naturalistic portrait and wedding work. Have been going full time pro (this time) for ~8 months. I also dabble in architectural and location based commercial stuff. So far so good. Wolf and door being kept apart. My aim is to move into more self-directed landscape work, hopefully producing fine art prints for web and gallery sales, but this is still in early stages. I've been shooting landscapes since I first started snapping, aged 11, and I never tire of it. I'm still relatively new to digital imaging, but have been using Photoshop (v7) for just over a year. Am just about out of the foothills, but there still looks to be some steep climbs ahead. I still shoot film and then scan, but am looking at digi SLR's for imminent purchase. I was introduced to this forum by Jack Lowe. Having monitored the general topics over the last week or so, I've learnt more in 7-odd days than in the last 7 months. Thank you Jack!! ;-) Nice to be here. Hope I can contribute as time goes by, but meantime, I've got a problem that's been bugging me for months. WTS.....
