Dear list,

With the advent of the kodak updates which seems good. The eos 1ds and
the new fuji s3 on the horizon and with Nikon relcutance to have a full
frame chip on the d2x, I understand that they are sticking to a ccd chip
for that.

After reading on luminous landscape that they thought the ccd contax slr
digi had images similar in quality to the eos 1ds with a smaller pixel
count.

What is the difference please and what has and edge over what.

I was thinking if the image quality of a ccd image is higher at a given
pixel count ( from what I hear) then the new s3 ccd chip with its wide
range of latitude could be fanatastic. But having looked at the new
kodak which seems to be sorted. Which way is the best do you guys think
as the visualness of a ccd image and cmos look a little different to
each other up close.

Not ready to upgrade yet as waiting to see what will happen but your
thoughts most appreciated.

cheers

Ian Reynolds
