sounds as if it can take 270GSM, but remember that a textured paper
will be phtsically thicker for the same GSM weight [think corrugated
steel].

You may have a different issue, I found problems with using Canon's
9000 inks with other paper than their own. I saw low contrast and
greyish blacks in some cases, low colour gamut too. They seem to use a
special coating.
