Indeed, Tariq and Nick are right, things like the time spent learning digital imaging should be costed at normal hourly rates. Does any one on this list do that? I certainly would not have shown a profit a few years ago if I costed my seminar attendances or for example reading the prodig emails at my photography rates. The cost of the equipment I use is nothing compared to the (wo)man hours of learning, ongoing learning. But let us also remember what FUN it is!
By the way, I have put my prices up, not down, to reflect the up-to-date technology my clients benefit from.
