Title: Calibrating a Powerbook G4 1.5Mhz 15" Screen
Hello Prodigers,

I’m attempting to calibrate a Powerbook Screen using an iOne Photo and Eye One Match. I’m comparing the results using Neil Barstow's / Pixls excellent Verification CD and Lambda print.

I’m not very impressed with the results I’ve achieved so far when compared to the colour accuracy achieved on the LaCie 22”, which is ‘very nice’. But this is the first LCD screen I have calibrated and I will happily plead ‘ignorance’ !

What concerns me is that the Eye One software, even on advanced mode, doesn’t ask the user to set anything before it kicks into calibration mode. Now, I wasn’t expecting to adjust individual RGB guns or anything like that, but to not even get a correct brightness setting before beginning the calibration seems a little odd to me. Or is that perfectly ‘normal’ when calibrating LCDs ?

Also, is it possible to switch off the brightness controls on the keyboard, so that when a calibrated state is achieved the machine cannot so easily be ‘decalibrated’.

Thank you all.

Best wishes, David
