2 things here James ref "purple fringing" There was until very recently with the release of firmware v5, a possibility of a magenta area in images due to radial chromatic abberations of a lens. Kodak has been able to introduce, with V5, a new dynamic way of dealing with this and it is now not a concern.
The other artefact you might describe as "purple fringing" is not a camera issue as such. It can be seen sometimes on a bright edge and is due to lens quality. Chromatic abberations in usually wa zooms can show this. As this is a full frame high end camera you need good lenses for it to give its best. At the wa end prime lenses are to be reccommended. If there is any ca displayed by any given lens then the ca tool in Photoshop CS usually deals with it successfully as it does vignetting, another lens problem sometimes seen in full frame cameras. =============================================================== GO TO http://www.prodig.org for ~ GUIDELINES ~ un/SUBSCRIBING ~ ITEMS for SALE
