There's no installation involved. You unStuff the file and drop it into the
Extensions folder. To disable it, you can remove it or insert a "~" infront
of the file name, like so: ~Adjusted Refresh.

I think it's probably more of a norm nowadays with RAM being dirt cheap.
More than 1 Gb of ram is probably still not that common.
