Andrew,
I presume Tim was referring to multishot exposures as is employed on high-end digital backs. A 4 shot capture takes a separate capture for typically 1 red, 2 green and 1 blue. These are then combined to produce the final RGB file WITHOUT any interpolation that is necessary with a single shot capture. The end result is a completely clean image free from any of the usual single capture digital artifacts. 90% of my work is done on either 4 shot or 16 shot captures. Where there is movement or people I usually combine a single shot capture of the movement with the 4 shot of the building, set etc.
As for Tim's request for this facility on a digital SLR, I think it will be a long way off. Multishot digital backs still need to be tethered to a computer to shot in multishot mode, no one has yet brought out anything that can do multishot untethered, it would be a dream come true for me, no more battery eating laptops on location, but we live in hope just dont hold your breath.
Regards,
Barry

Why on earth would you want the facility to take multiple shots (I assume that you mean multiple exposures)?
