AAhh Hindsight,
Id assumed from articles I read that the Hitachi Microdrive was in fact a Hitachi
Microdrive and that it would,as had been posted on the web,work in a camera.
Indeed one of the links I looked at stated that the person used it in their camera.
If at any stage Id thought that the drive was anything other than a fully equipped 
unit I
would not have looked twice,I was trying to get the fastest drive I could,at a sensible
price,simple as that.
I think that we,photographers that is,are being targeted as people who will spend 
almost
anything in order to have the right tools for the job.
If, as has been suggested, the Microdrives Hitachi supply for music devices are short 
of a
few transistors and chips,I can not for one minute believe that the manufacturing cost
differential can be more than a few pence.
