We do know that this clause has already prevented one scheme that would have been in the public interest , and that's why we made the initial call. It was left that our man at Gretag UK would contact Switzerland and give us an answer ASAP (but not yet :-) )

Dear Bob

This whole subject was the subject of some very heated discussion on the Colorsync users list in the last four years. At the time I thought all the main developers of profiling software, who had previously been hiding behind fences or legal wording that effectively stopped the general use of profiles had started taking a more sensible position.

It was pointed out by many on the list that if their aim was to stifle the advancement of colour management in the print industry, they were going about it in the right way! I am therefor rather surprised that Gretag do not seem to have moved on.

BTW thanks for the update on the Profile scheme and all you hard work in that direction.

Cheers

Richard
