My name is Philip Blume. I live in Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S.A.

I learned of the ProDIG group by reading Mr. Evenings excellent book on
Photoshop.

I have been involved in photography as an avocation for many years. At the
present, I serve as the photography department of Desert Sky Communications,
a New Mexico public relations company operated by my wife, Jane.

My principal interest is fine art photography. I have recently joined the
cooperative that operates the Nob Hill Gallery in Albuquerque where my work
will be shown on a continuing basis.

I am equally interested in color and black & white photography. I do all of
my own darkroom work. I use negative material for virtually all of my color
work, printing with Type C material.

I have something of a technical interest in photography and have done a good
deal of work in b&w sensitometry. Ive developed equipment and computer
programs to expedite the procedures. While its fun, its something of an
anachronism these days and not many people are interested in it.

I have become interested in digital photography and have begun to show
digitally printed workmostly color, but b&w too. At this point, I no
longer think I can get as consistently fine results in the darkroom as I can
digitallyat least for color.

I usually use medium format film. I have a new Nikon Coolscan 9000 film
scanner that Im quite pleased with. I use an Epson Stylus Photo 2200
printer for those of my color display prints.

Ive yet to invest in a professional quality digital camera. I do have an
Olympus Camedia C-5050 which is fun to experiment with and which has
provided some excellent results. So far, I still prefer film for display
prints.

My principal subject material consists of landscapes, inanimate objects,
etc. Some of my work may be seen at the following web address:
