Ant,

Have a look at the new A4 Canon PIXMA printers. The iP8500 is top of the line but the cheaper iP5000 is versatile and has excellent type printing for your invoices - two black inks are used. (It is OK for Macs OSX v.10.2.1 or later). I'm part way through a review of both and am impressed so far. The 5000 has what is claimed to be industry first 1 picolitre ink droplets and prints at 9600X2400dpi. Both are fast and quiet. Borderless printing is easy and Canon has just introduced a new double sided paper. Direct printing on CDs and DVDs is pretty straightforward, too. Price for the iP5000 is around #160 incl of VAT.

We are looking for a printer to replace our couple of Epson bubble jets
which we use for printing invoices and press packs, which are just not up to
the job.

Should we go for a cheap laser? If so what? Or a better bubble jet? Or even
where to start researching.
