I hope I'm not mis-understanding things myself, but it does appear to me that the thing that really irks people is when members constantly ask the same question, meaning that it is there for them to see 100's of times over in the archive, if only they'd look. As regards trimming issues etc, yes it can be an irritation if you inadvertently do things wrong, and get bashed continually by the listmom - I did at first - but you have to trade that off against not upsetting 100's of people. Which would you rather?
