There are plenty ( of us! ) out here who gave up on 10x8 transparency a long time ago.

I am glad to hear it Bob - I thought that most prodiggers had never used a large format camera!

you know what thought did?.... this is a big list....we didnt all take up photography when DSLR's came on the market Dick !!

Do you miss 10x8?? :)

Those of us who have shot 10 x8 tranny will also remember having to expose for about a month at f64...reciprocity failure pah!, multi flash??? often 10-20?, so a 16 pop is no sad movie.
10 x 8 was fun I admit...looks great, you've never lived a full photographic life until the weight of a sinar, with 420 mm lens on top of a gitzo tripod head tilts over trapping your cold fingers out on location.

The buttock clenching anticipation at the age of 19, as the boss waits in by the processors light box with you, to see if you've got it right... the lecture on the cost of getting it wrong, the sinking feeling when the dark slide wont go back in....and as Bob already mentioned, the processing shift...darkslide scratches..no photoshop..

Thanks for reminding us of the joys of 10x8 ....memories......austin allegros, morris marinas, vinyl roofs, c60 cassettes, tv closing at 10.30, flares, platform shoes, tank tops, nylon sheets, feather cuts....power cuts, argh!!! no joy there!!

Gimmie pixels and live video

Just know I'm gonna have nightmares tonight..fill my glass darling...I'm gonna be twitching a bit.
