Jorge,
At the risk of being severely reprimanded, let me add my comments to Paul and
Pete and several previous posts on this subject.

Obviously, it is the list owners and the mums choice of how to run the list and
as a relatively new member I have tried to get a feeling for how the list is
doing and how to behave. I see a lot of grumblings that members are not
satisfied for a variety of reasons and most comments about changes are quickly
suppressed.

I, and from the impression of other posters it applies to more than me, feel
like an outsider, a permanent visitor or a child at school. I am not referring
to trimming messages and details like that.

I think it is important for a group of members to feel it is "their" list, and
that they have an opportunity to openly participate and comment on how it is
run. It will bring a tighter bond between members and usually, more
participation and support of "our" list.

Of course we all know it is Ed's list and I really appreciate his time, money
and efforts to keep the list going but maybe it would be helpful if we could
feel it is also "our" list.

Polite bantering and some extra spurious messages are healthy and it will make
this a community with more participation and reasons to stay instead of forming
or moving to other lists.

With the best intention,
Bertho Boman
