Thanks for the replies. I rang Sigma, who were very helpful, and they said to send it in for a re-chip. As my lens is about 6 years old (first of type it needs to be re-chipped for the F80) which I would have thought has the same electronics to some degree as my D70. Cost? �5.00 not bad I thought.
