Those are not rhethorical questions, I'm curious. :)

I see that people have Django working with Jython.  My understanding
is that Sun is putting effort, money, and developer time into Jython.
To me, that means it will be reliable and performant.

I've heard that too, I just haven't found much real-world evidence. http://www.jython.org at least makes the project look fairly dead. :)
